»Naloga se ukvarja z revitalizacijo urbanega degradiranega območja v neposredni bližini Železničarske delavske kolonije Studenci v Mariboru. Obravnavano območje ima zaradi številnih prostorskih ovir, ki so posledica neuravnotežene strukturne širitve mesta na desni breg reke Drave, težave pri razvoju in uspešnem povezovanju s širšim urbanim tkivom, kar se odraža v razdrobljenosti in pomanjkanju javnih in centralnih programov ter javnih odprtih in zelenih površin. S postopnim zmanjševanjem prometno-industrijskih dejavnosti se ponujajo nove priložnosti za razvoj območja. V nalogi smo zasnovali urbanistični in arhitekturni proces urbane revitalizacije za degradirano območje v severozahodnem delu Železničarske kolonije, ki ob upoštevanju prostorskih danosti, lokalnega konteksta in z zasnovo novih prometnih povezav ter programov vzpostavlja novo središče na območju Tabora. Zasnova urbane revitalizacije vzpostavlja prostor srečevanja in druženja za lokalne prebivalce, hkrati pa povezuje varovano historično območje s širšim urbanim sistemom mesta.«
»This thesis addresses the revitalization of a degraded urban area located in close proximity to the Railway workers colony Studenci in Maribor. Due to numerous spatial obstacles resulting from the city’s unbalance structural expansion on the right bank of the Drava River, the area faces challenges in development and effective integration with the broader urban fabric. This is reflected in the fragmentation and the lack of central and public functions as well as public open and green spaces. With the gradual withdrawal of traffic and industrial activities from the area, new opportunities for development are emerging. The thesis seeks to propose an urban and architectural process of urban regeneration for a degraded area in the northeastern part of the Railway workers colony. Taking into account the spatial characteristics, local context and by designing new traffic connections and programs, the project aims to establish a new center for the area of Tabor. The process of urban revitalisation creates a place for meeting and socializing for local residents, while also connecting the historical protected site with the wider urban system of the city.«
