»Naloga je predlog revitalizacije propadlega območja v evropskem mestu na primeru industrijske cone Studenci v Mariboru. Želja je tvoriti kvalitetno okolje za delovanje človeka, mu omogočiti prijetno bivanje in delo, oblikovati veliko površin za rekreacijo in miselno stimulacijo, skrajšati vsakodnevne poti, upoštevati naravo in okolje ter izhodišča za trajnostni razvoj.
Osnove pri oblikovanju projekta so: širjenje goste pozidave centra mesta proti periferiji, vnos centralnih dejavnosti zaradi decentralizacije, mestotvorno oblikovanje, ki se ujame z obstoječo mestno strukturo, ohramba zaznanih kvalitet in njihova nadgradnja ter integracija v zasnovo. Glavne vnesene funkcije so: manjkajoča fakulteta v Mariboru, študentski dom, stanovanjska naselja, restavracije.«
“The work is a proposal for the revitalization of a neglected area in a European city on an example of the industrial zone in Studenci, Maribor. The aim is to create a quality environment for human activities, facilitate pleasant living and working conditions, design ample spaces for recreation and mental stimulation, shorten daily commutes, and take into account nature and the environment, as well as the principles of sustainable development.
The foundations for the project design include the expansion of dense development from the city center towards the periphery, the introduction of central functions for the sake of decentralization, urban typology that aligns with existing city structure, preservation of perceived qualities along with their enhancement and integration into the design. The main introduced functions are a missing faculty in Maribor, a student dormitory, residential areas, restaurants.”
