»Diplomsko delo obravnava problematiko poplav s poudarkom na razvoju nove metode za ocenjevanje obsega poplav s pomočjo amaterskih posnetkov. V delu so predstavljene hidrološke značilnosti poplav, vključno s parametri, kot so pretok in vodostaj, ter dejavniki, ki vplivajo na njihov nastanek. Osrednji del diplomskega dela je razvoj in validacija nove metode za ocenjevanje obsega poplav, ki temelji na uporabi amaterskih posnetkov za določanje pretokov in vodostajev. Rezultati raziskave kažejo, da je predlagana metoda obetavna in bi lahko prispevala k izboljšanju napovedovanja in obvladovanja poplav.«

The paper presents the hydrological characteristics of floods, including parameters such as flow and water level, and the factors that influence their occurrence. The central part of the thesis is the development and validation of a new method for assessing the extent of floods, which is based on the use of amateur footage to determine flows and water levels. The research results show that the proposed method is promising and could contribute to improving flood prediction and management.«
