Dear all,

It is with great sadness that we inform you of the peaceful passing of Sture Ericson, the “STUdor.”

Sture was a longstanding and dedicated supporter of CIB W062, contributing actively from the 1980s through to 2017.

During this time, he presented numerous influential papers and played a significant role in shaping discussions around drainage and ventilation systems.

Many of you will fondly remember his memorable gala dinner speeches, often concluded with the spirited singing of “Skillemandinke.”

These moments reflected not only his technical passion but also his warmth, humour, and ability to bring our community together.

As time passes, we inevitably lose some of the great contributors to our field. However, Sture’s legacy lives on through the continued innovation in drainage ventilation that remains central to our symposiums today.

We extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing and working with him.

He will be greatly missed by the CIB W062 community.
