Tomaž Ebenšpanger je arhitekt, docent na Univerzi v Mariboru, kjer deluje v okviru Oddelka za arhitekturo, Fakultete za gradbeništvo, prometno inženirstvo in arhitekturo. Leta 1995 je diplomiral v okviru Laboratorija za umetno zaznavanje, sisteme in kibernetiko na takratni Fakulteti za elektrotehniko in računalništvo, Univerze v Ljubljani. V času študija na Fakulteti za arhitekturo, Univerze v Ljubljani se je izobraževal v seminarju profesorja dr. Aleša Vodopivca, kjer je leta 2006 tudi diplomiral. Podiplomsko izpopolnjevanje je nadaljeval pri profesorju Glennu Murcuttu v Avstraliji, dobitniku prestižne Pritzkerjeve nagrade za arhitekturne dosežke. Kot samostojni arhitekt v več avtorskih skupinah je deloval do leta 2011. Do leta 2016 je skupaj z Meto Kutin deloval kot partner v okviru biroja Skupaj arhitekti, kjer trenutno deluje samostojno in se ustvarjalno posveča arhitekturi, ki sledi ideji občutljivega, zadržanega in premišljenega poseganja v prostor ter verjame v arhitekturo kot umetnost in trajnostni princip. Je dolgoletni in aktivni član Društva arhitektov Ljubljana, Društva arhitektov Maribor in Društva arhitektov Pomurja. Od leta 2015 je kot pooblaščeni arhitekt vpisan v imenik Zbornice za arhitekturo in prostor Slovenije. Večkrat je bil vključen tudi v natečajne komisije na javnih arhitekturnih natečajih. Kot enakovreden avtor je dobitnik številnih nagrad in priznanj na javnih arhitekturnih natečajih. Za projekt Hiša za preprosto bivanje je prejel nagrado Zlati svinčnik 2021, ki jo podeljuje Zbornica za arhitekturo in prostor Slovenije za odlično realizacijo. S svojim arhitekturnim delovanjem je prepoznan in prisoten tudi v mednarodnem prostoru. Je soavtor več domačih in mednarodnih razstav s področja arhitekture in prostorske kulture. Njegova dela so objavljana v številnih domačih in tujih revijah ter spletnih platformah.

Tomaž Ebenšpanger is an Architect and Assistant Professor at the University of Maribor, working in the Department of Architecture of the Faculty of Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering and Architecture. In 1995 he graduated from the Laboratory of Artificial Perception, Systems and Cybernetics at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at the University of Ljubljana. During his studies at the Faculty of Architecture, University of Ljubljana, which he graduated from in 2006 under the mentorship of dr. Aleš Vodopivec. He continued his postgraduate education in Australia under Professor Glenn Murcutt, who was awarded the prestigious Pritzker Architecture Prize. Until 2011, he worked as an independent architect in various architectural groups. Until 2016, he worked as a partner with Meta Kutin in the architectural office Skupaj arhitekti, where he now works independently and is creatively dedicated to an architecture that follows the idea of sensitive, restrained and conscious intervention in space and believes in architecture as an art and sustainable principle. He is a long-standing and active member of the Association of Architects of Ljubljana, the Association of Architects of Maribor, and the Association of Architects of Pomurje. Since 2015 he has been registered as a licenced architect in the register of the Chamber of Architecture and Space in Slovenia. He has also served several times in the competition committees of public architectural competitions. As an equal author, he is the winner of numerous awards and recognitions in public architectural competitions. For the project House for Simple Living, he received the Golden Pencil 2021, awarded by the Chamber of Architecture and Space of Slovenia for an outstanding realisation. With his architectural activity he is also recognised and present in the international space. He is co-author of several national and international exhibitions in the field of architecture and space culture. His works are published in many domestic and foreign journals and online platforms.
