“Diplomsko delo obravnava učinke nadgradnje železniškega odseka Maribor–Šentilj–državna meja, ki predstavlja pomembno mednarodno povezavo in je del jedrnega omrežja TEN-T. Predstavljeno je stanje proge pred nadgradnjo, izvedeni infrastrukturni posegi ter njihov vpliv na tehnične, prometne in varnostne parametre odseka. Nadgradnja je prinesla višje dovoljene hitrosti, krajše vozne čase, večjo prepustno zmogljivost ter sodobnejše in varnejše odvijanje železniškega prometa. Kljub izboljšavam enotirnost proge ostaja glavna omejitev nadaljnjega razvoja, zato rezultati kažejo na pomen prihodnje izgradnje drugega tira.”
“The thesis examines the effects of the upgrade of the Maribor–Šentilj–state border railway section, which represents an important international connection and is a part of the TEN-T Core Network. It presents the condition of the railway line prior to the upgrade, the infrastructure works carried out, and their impact on the technical, operational, and safety characteristics of the section. The upgrade resulted in higher permitted speeds, shorter travel times, increased line capacity, and more modern and safer railway operations. Despite these improvements, the single-track configuration remains the main limitation to further development, indicating the importance of constructing a second track in the future.”
