Stanovanjski bloki, zgrajeni pred desetletji, še danes predstavljajo pomemben del bivalnega prostora velikemu deležu Beograjčanov, vendar so številni objekti v slabem stanju in nujno potrebujejo prenovo.
»The area of New Belgrade underwent intensive development after the Second World War, marked by the construction of numerous residential blocks that became a key part of the city’s urban fabric. Residential blocks built decades ago still represent an important living environment for a large share of Belgrade’s population; however, many of these buildings are in poor condition and urgently require renovation.
This master’s thesis examines the urban and architectural development of New Belgrade, with a focus on post-war residential blocks. It also includes a historical analysis of the area, aimed at achieving a deeper understanding of the context of its origin and its evolution over time. Based on these findings, a conceptual design for a mixed-use residential building is proposed. The project complements the selected location in terms of function and contributes to its revitalization. It is conceived as a spatial landmark that responds to the city’s housing challenges, enhances the quality of living, and simultaneously serves as both a programmatic and spatial upgrade of the chosen site.«
