Načrtovani program predstavlja odgovor na temeljna izhodišča, obravnavana v teoretičnem delu naloge, in potrebe lokalnega prebivalstva. Revitalizacija območja tako ustvarja kakovostno okolje, ki ponovno oživi obrobje mesta in prispeva k nadaljnjemu prostorskemu razvoju.«
»Population ageing – a paradox of modern society. This is the image of the current situation in many countries, including Croatia. Society is advancing, yet the population is ageing. This demographic trend raises numerous questions in the fields of health and social services, as well as housing care. Older adults, as a vulnerable group, often face challenges related to access to services, quality of living, and maintaining independence. Today, in addition to the lack of housing for the elderly, the issue of its quality is also becoming increasingly important.
This master’s thesis presents a conceptual proposal for the revitalisation of the former tourist complex Cimper. The project outlines a plan for a senior centre – a space that integrates residential, recreational, and social facilities tailored to the needs of the older population. At the same time, the centre serves as a space for intergenerational coexistence, promoting connections between older adults, the local community, and younger generations. The emphasis is on the concept of active ageing in a familiar environment, where older individuals feel safe and accepted.
The proposed programme responds to the key principles discussed in the theoretical part of the thesis as well as to the needs of the local population. The revitalisation of the area thus creates a high-quality environment that brings new life to the city’s outskirts and contributes to further spatial development.«
